Joint Approvals Authority for Periodic Training (JAUPT)

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) realised that the implementation of the Periodic Training element of the new Driver CPC would require an approvals unit to approve training centres and courses.

The Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) was therefore set up by “GoSkills” (Sector Skills Council for passenger transport), the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and Skills for Logistics (SSC for freight transport) to manage the approvals process for Driver CPC Periodic Training.

All applications for centre and course approval must be submitted to the JAUPT in order to gain approval for periodic training. Every course and training centre is assessed according to set criteria before approval or re-approval is given. The JAUPT will also ensure that audits are conducted to maintain and assure quality standards.

Supreme Transport Training has been approved by JAUPT to deliver Driver CPC Periodic Training for a five year period commencing on 10th September 2008.
